French squadron active in the Mediterranean according to the newspaper Rotterdamsche Courant dated 11 May 1852

A French squadron consisting of six ships of the line and a steamboat arrived at Genoa and departed on 1 May from there towards the North African coast and was sighted on the 3rd at Livorno. The edition dated 21 August reported that a French squadron consisting of six ships of the line and 3 steamboats arrived on 9 August at Cagliari coming from the African coast.
