Modernisation of the British torpedo gunboat HMS Gossamer according to the Dutch magazine Marineblad 1901-1902 no. 4

An item referred to the magazine Mittheilungen reporting that the British torpedo gunboat Gossamer would be modernized at the shipyard of Palmer at Barrow-on-Tyne and fitted out with water tube boilers.(1)

1. Of the Sharpshooter-class. Laid down on 21 January 1889 at the Sheerness dockyard, launched on 9 January 1890, completed on 16 June 1891, in 1908 minesweeper and finally sold on 20 March 1920 to the Cornish salvage Co., Ilfracombe.
