New Japanese destroyers strongest of the world according to the Dutch magazineMarineblad dated 1932 no. 5

An item referred to the magazine Revue maritime dated June 1932 reporting that the new Japanese destroyers were the most powerful ones of this kind.(1) With a displacement of 1.700 tons were their dimensions 111,85 x 10,35 x 3,25 metres. The horsepower of 50.000 hp allowed a speed of 35 knots. With an armament of 3x2-12,6cm guns on twin carriages in closed turrets protecting against gas attacks, 2 anti aircraft guns and 9-53,3cm torpedo tubes.

Note
1. For instance the Dutch Admiral-class destroyers built between 1928 and 1939 had a displacement of 1.680 tons and as dimensions 98,14 x 9,53 x 3,00 metres. Their speed of 34 knots was comparable however not their armament which included 4-12cm guns, between 1 and 3 7,6cm guns, 4-12,7mm or 4-4cm guns and 6-5,53cm torpedo tubes.
