French naval sailors sent home according to the Dutch newspaper Middelburgsche Courant dated 25 October 1842

An item referred to tidings received from Toulon reporting that on short notice all married sailors who served more as 18 months in the French navy and all the sailors of the conscription 1836 were sent home. There were seriously complaints dealing with this measure. The major fear was that the best skilled/trained seamen would leave the navy which gave Russia en England the opportunity to organize the Middle East Affairs in the manner they desire to do so.
