Dutch East Indiaman Ternate in 1683 in the Dutch East Indies

Lying in the roads of Batavia, Dutch East Indies. Needed keeling at Onrust because of her heavy leaking which prevented her retuning to the Netherlands. She was qualified for service in calm waters like the Eastern provinces, Malacca, Siam, the west coast of Sumatra, Palembang en Jambij. First was she to be examined what her condition exactly was but she was one of the first ships to be maintained at Onrust. There was a huge lacking of carpenters and maintaining her would mean that there would be none carpenter available for other labour. Measurement 500 tons. (1)
