Dutch East Indiaman Veluwe in 1683 in the Dutch East Indies

Lying in the roads of Batavia, Dutch East Indies. Qualified for service in calm waters like the Eastern provinces, Malacca, Siam, the west coast of Sumatra, Palembang en Jambij. She was described as lying in the roads since quite some time waiting for her maintenance at Onrust caused by lacking enough carpenters. During her voyage towards Coromandel was she leaking and the crew was forced to cut a part of the framing in the bow to get to the leak. Measurement 350 last. (1)
