An item dated Lochmaddy, Scotland 15th reported that the British bark ship Broughton underway from Hamburg, Germany towards Glasgow, Scotland hit a rock at Hammersea Island and was now half filled with water. Her crew all of Hamburg was saved although one men was severe wounded. It was feared that she could not be refloated.
