Ship Pactole loaded with guano condemned and sold at Rio Janeiro, Brazil according to the Dutch newspaper Nieuwe Rotterdamsche courant dated 5 May 1845

An item dated Paris, France 29th April reported that the ship Pactole captain Labal underway from Lima, Peru towards Bordeaux, France was forced to harbour of Rio Janeiro, Brazil being damaged. She was there condemned and sold. Her cargo of guano was loaded in the French ship la Jeune Gabrielle of Bordeaux.
