Dutch steam gunboat 2nd class Dufa 1879-1913 and Ramses 1913-mid 30’s

Call sign GQHT, name proposal dated 10 March 1879, on stocks at the Koninklijke Fabriek van stoom- en andere werktuigen, Amsterdam, Netherlands on 26 April 1879, launched on 4 November 1879, trial on 20 April 1880, delivered and commissioned on 4 May 1880, guard ship at Rotterdam since 1 October 1890, quarantine vessel at Maassluis, Netherlands 2 September-14 October 1892, fitted out with two new boilers at P. Smit jr., Rotterdam in 1905, replaced at Rotterdam by the Hr. Ms. Dog on 7 October 1907, added to the Hr. Ms. Van Galen at Hellevoetsluis, Netherlands on 30 January 1909, engines and boilers removed at the navy yard ay Hellevoetsluis and handed over the fishery police of the Department of Finances in 1913, renamed Ramses and used at the Oosterschelde mainly to guard over the oyster banks and served there until the mid 1930’s.

Building costs ƒ 218.750,00. Displacement 245 ton, dimensions 27,80 x 8,48 x 2,03 metres, 2 compound steam engines, horsepower 150,6 ihp, 2 screws, speed 7,5 knots, a crew numbering 34 men and an armament consisting of 1-28cm no.1 gun, 2-3,7cm guns and 1-3,7cm revolver gun.
