US Navy removing torpedo tubes from heavy cruisers according to the Dutch magazine Marineblad 1934 no. 7

An item referred to the Proceedings dated October 1934 reporting that the US department of navy decided to remove the torpedo tubes on board of all heavy cruisers. It was believed that except for extra ordinary the torpedoes were not to be launched and the presence of war torpedoes on board of a slightly armoured ships was to dangerous for the possible benefits.
