An item referred to the magazine Revista Marittime dated February 1936 reporting that the modernisation of the 4 Italian battleships costs 300 million lire. The fore ship was to be lengthened with 16 metres, to be fitted out with a catapult for launching aircraft and the maximum speed was estimated to be around 30 knots.(1)
