National collection in Poland for purchasing submarine according to the Dutch magazine Marineblad dated 1935 no. 7


An item referred to the magazine R.U.S.I. dated November 1935 reported that the Liga Morska i Kolonialna collected 99.750 pound sterling for a maritime defence budget. The money was to be used for building a submarine named Marshall Pilsudski.(1)

1. Probably one of the in the Netherlands built Orzel-class submarines Orzel (contract signed on 29 January 1936, laid down by Kon. Mij. De Schelde, Vlissingen on 14 August 1936) or Sep (laid down by Rotterdamsche Droogdok Maatschappij, Rotterdam in November 1936).
