Increasing number of Chinese P-6 class motor torpedo boats sighted according to the Australia Station Intelligence Summary dated 8 June 1957

An item reported that at Shanghai, Navy more and more Chinese motor torpedo boats of the P-6 type were sighted.(1)

1. Project 183 Bolshevik a further development of the P-4class (which was based on the Russian K-123 hydroplane  design) with a displacement of 6,5 (full load) tons and as dimensions 25,40 x 6,24 x 1,27 metres or 83.4 x 20.6 x 4.1 feet., a maximum speed of 44 knots and an armament of 2x2-2,5cm/0.98: guns, 8 depth charges and 2-53,3cm/21” torpedo tubes.
