Soviet motor tug Taman active on the Danube according to a CIA report dated 31 July 1952

An item dealing with the merchant shipping traffic on the Danube between 25 February and 28 March 1952 between Vienna, Austria and Reni, Ukraine [45˚26’North and 28˚18’East] mentioned the Soviet motor tug Taman towing 7 cargo barges. This tug was also in the past reported.(1)

1. Austrian motor tug Altenau built by Linz Schiffswerft, Linz, Austria for the Erste Donau-Dampfschiffahrts-Gesellschaft, Vienna, Austria later becoming the motor tug Taman of the SDGP (Sovetskoe Dunajskoe Gossudarstvenno Parahodstvo, Ismail, Soviet Union [Ukraine]. Dimensions 46,60 x 7,27 metres and a machinery consisting of 2x410hp Deutz engines.
