Demagnetization stations alongside the Danieb according to a CIA report dated 26 February 1952

An item reported that in August 1949 was ordered that the complete fleet of the Soviet Danube Navigation Company was to be demagnetized. To realize this were at least three demagnetization stations alongside the river erected. The one on the Obuda Shipyard Island (Obuda Hajosgyari Sziget), Budapest, Hungary was manned by six men of the Soviet Danube Flotilla and commanded by the Soviet officer Skobilov. A second one was at Ruse, Bulgaria manned by an officer and 10 men of the Soviet Danube Flotilla and the third one in the winter port of Braila, Romania, although this seemed to be a temporarily station with just the cables lying permanently in the water. River authorities were responsible for certificating and checking if a ship was demagnetized. Ships which crossed Yugoslavian territories were especially controlled.
