Norwegian cargo-passenger ship ms Astrea 1939-1967 and Tjaldur 1967-1969


Of the Bergen Steamship Company/Det Bergenske Dampskibsselskab the so-called Bergen Line. Built by Crichton-Vulcan A/B, Turku, Finland in 1939 but completed on 1944 by the Finboda Varfs, bought from the Stockholms Rederi Svea and sold to Pf Skipafelagid Foroyard, Bergen, Norway in 1967 and then renamed Tjaldur, since February 1968 registered by this firm in Panama and finally sold to the Netherlands to be broken up in 1969. Gross register tonnage 3.190 tons, net tonnage 1.690 tons, deadweight 2.350 tons and dimensions 298.5-313.2 x 44.1 x 24 x 27.3 (moulded depth) foot. Call sign LLIC.
