Problems with the Polish destroyers O.R.P. Blyskawica and Burza according to a CIA report dated 8 October 1951

An item reported that the Polish destroyer O.R.P. Blyskawica had no commanding officer since summer 1950 lieutenant commander Waclaw Welglarz was relieved from duty following his dismissal from the Polish navy. He was temporarily replaced by a Soviet naval officer who was within short time relieved returning to the Soviet Union to recover after he was injured while at sea. The destroyer O.R.P. Burza returned on 21 July from England although in such a worse condition that she was towed back with disabled machinery and damaged guns. What caused the problems was not mentioned.
