British whaler Sir A. Hammond active in 1829 according to the newspaper The Sydney Monitor dated Saturday 27 March 1830

An item reported the British whaler Sir A. Hammond 282 tons active in the sperm whaling on 5 January 1829.(1)

Note

1. Sir Andrew Hammond or Sir Andrew Hamond, launched at Bermuda in 1800 for account of R. Sheedan/Sheddan as a West Indiaman, became in 1812 a whaler, temporarily in hands of the United States Navy 1813-1814 and again whaler until she run a sandbank off the Ecuadorian coast on 28 August 1841 and lost. Measured 282-301-302 tons and a crew numbered 30 men. Armed in 1800 with 2-9pd guns, 8-12pd guns, later changed.
