American merchant cargo ship design EC2-S-C1 (Liberty) in 1946

EC 2 design cargo ship based on a Second World War dated German drawing

Steel built, full scantling and with a raked stem and cruiser stern. In holds No. 1 and 4 were deep tanks located. Dimensions 441.6 (over all) x 56.10 ¾ (molded) x 37.4 (molded depth) x 27.8 (load draught molded) feet, deadweight 10,800 tons, gross tonnage 7,170 tons, net tonnage 4,380 tons and bale cubic capacity 500,000 cubic feet. The amidships located steam reciprocating propulsion allowed with normal horsepower of 2,500 shp a speed of 11 knots. Prewar domestic cost 1.278,000 US dollars, domestic war cost 1,728,590 US dollars, unadjusted statutory sales price 639,000 US dollars and floor price 544,506 US dollar
