France agreed with maximum tonnage of battleships according to the Dutch newspaper Het Vaderland dated 2 December 1921

An item reported that it was almost certain that France would agree with a maximum tonnage of 200.000 tons of battleships for the French navy.

1. As a result of the Washington Naval Conference held between November 1921-February 1922 with as result the Washington Naval Treaty or Five-Power Treaty ratified 17 August 1923. Limiting the tonnage of battleships, maximum displacement and calibre of main guns.
