An item reported that the American coal transport USS Jupiter at her 48 hour full power trial a medium speed of 15.1 knots with 115 rpm and 6.940 hp achieved. Her contracted speed was 14 knots.(1)

1. Laid down by Mare Island Naval Shipyard, Vallejo, California, USA on 18 October 1911, launched on 14 August 1912, commissioned on 7 April 1913, converted into an aircraft carrier, renamed USS Langley (CV-1) in April 1920, converted into a seaplane tender (AV-3) between 25 October 1936-26 February 1937, scuttled after a Japanese air attack on 27 February 1942 while bound for Tjilatjap, Dutch East Indies and stricken on 8 May 1942.
