Second gun turret for USS Oklahoma successfully tested according to the Dutch magazine Marineblad dated 1913-1914 no. 7

An item reported that the second triple turret for the USS Oklahoma (1) wit success was tested at Indian Head. At the moment the ship was yet for far enough completed for making it possible to place the turret and which was now kept in store at Indian Head.

1. The battleship (BB-37) laid down at the shipyard of the New York Shipbuilding Corporation on 26 October 1912, launched on 23 March two years later, commissioned on2 May 1916, sunk during the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbour on 7 December 1941 with 429 casualties, salvaged in 1943, decommissioned on 1 September 1944 was her armament and superstructure removed and sold to be broken up two years later. Sunk in 1947 while underway from Oahu to San Francisco towards her final fate.
