Italian proposals at the Geneva Disarmament Conference according to the Dutch newspaper Nieuwsblad van het Noorden dated 24 February 1932

An item dated Geneva, Switzerland 23rd reported that the Italian delegation proposed to abolish the large battleships, submarines, aircraft carriers, heavy artillery, tanks, bombers and all chemical and bacteriological gasses and renewing of the international agreement dealing with the protection of civilians.(1)

1. The must be the World Disarmament Conference also called Geneva Disarmament Conference or the Conference for the Reduction and Limitations of Armaments 1932-1934 as a effort of the League of Nations to prevent a arms race and even an increase of the armed forces. The withdrawal of Germany from the Conference in October 1933 in fact ended the effort.
