Mathis Co., consisting of the Active, Beagle, Bear, Bison, Bullock, Burro, Camel, Diligent, Fort Howard, Green Bay, Lightning, Ox, Pointer, Pottawotomie, Sampson, Salem, Setter, Spaniel, Tomah, Whistler, Wizard, Energy, Ashwabemie, Persistence, Prowess, Force, Valor, Terrier, Beagle, Reindeer, Racehorse, Stallion, Foreman, Dragoman, Drayman, Badger Leopard, Buzzard, Hawk, Condor, Cockatoo, Porter, Hauler, Driver, Seminole, Talisman, Whistler, Wizard, Vanguard, Mastiff and Guardian. Owner on 1 August 1920 was the United States Shipping Board. Wood-built. Gross tonnage 179 tons, net tonnage30 tons and as dimensions 94.10 (between perpendiculars)-101.4 (over all) x 24 (moulded) x 14.2 (moulded depth) feet. One compound expansion 450ihp steam engine and 1 single-ended Scotch boiler. Built by Leatham&Smith T.&W. Co. , Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin, USA in December 1919. Later renamed Claremont.
