American merchant ship William P. Frye sunk by German raider Prinz Eitel Friderich in 1915

An item reported that the American merchant schooner William P. Frye (1), gross tonnage 3,374 tons, was captured by the German raider Prinz Eitel Friderich in the South Atlantic Ocean south east of Brazil on the position 29.53 South 26.47 West and sunk on 28 January 1915 without casualties.

Note

1. The Dutch newsbode dated De Maasbode dated 21 August reported that she was loaded with wheat underway from Seattle to Queenstown and torpedoed by the German raider.
