 An item reported that the American Acting Secretary of the Navy informed by letter dated 21 June 1931 that Secretary of State that the conversion of the battleship USS Utah into a target conform article 2 London Naval Treaty was completed. The British, Japanese, Italian and French governments were informed.(1)

Laid down by New York Shipbuilding Corporation on 9 March 1909, launched on 23 December 1909, commissioned on 31 August 1911, as target AG-16, sunk in a Japanese attack at Pearl harbor on 7 December 1941, decommissioned on 5 September 1944 and stricken on 13 November 1944.
