Argentinean battleship Rivadavia launched according to the Dutch newspaper De Sumatra Post dated 29 August 1911

An item reported that on the 27th on a North American shipyard the Argentinean battleship Reidavia Quiney was launched. She was one of the worlds largest warships with a length of 275 feet and a measurement of 256.00 tons. She was the first warship built for foreign account by an American shipyard for years.(1)

1. Rivadavia. Part of Rivadavia-class preceded by Independencia-class, laid down by Fore River Shipbuilding Company on 25 May 1910, launched on 26 August 1911, commissioned on 27 August 1914, decommissioned in 1952, sold to Italy in 1957 and breaking up begun in 1959.
