An item dated Berlin, Germany 20th reported that the German battleships SMS Hannover (1) and Elsass (2) arrived on the 19th at Oslo, Norway firing 21 extra salutes for the return of Amundsen.

Part of Braunschweig-class preceded by Wittelsbach-class succeeded by Deutschland-class, laid down by Schichau-Werke, Danzig, Germany with yard number 197 under contract name “J” on 26 May 1901, launched on 26 May 1903, commissioned on 29 November 1904, stricken on 31 March 1931 and broken up in 1936.
