Budget for building German heavy cruiser or pocket battleship approved according to the Dutch newspaper De locomotief dated 21 March 1931

An item dated Berlin, Germany 20 March reported that the Reichstag with 181 against 71 votes rejected the motion of the communists to stop new building of warships until 1936. The social democrats did not vote. In the second reading was the budget approved with 183 against 72 and again the social democrats did not vote. The budget included the first term of 11 million mark for building a pocket battleship. Also the fourth term for a battleship was approved. The first term of 11 million mark was for battleship B, the fourth term for pocket battleship A. (1)

1. Deutschland-class panzerschiffe or heavy cruisers succeeded by realized Admiral Hipper-class and planned D-class. The first one was the Deutschland, second one Admiral Scheer and third and last one Admiral Graf Spee. In 1928 was a design for a 17,500 long ton battle cruiser completed armed with 4x2-30.5cm and based on the never completed Ersatz Yorck-class battlecruisers and finally resulted in the Scharnhorst-class fast battleships or battlecruisers built between 1935-1939.
