British river cargo ship Woosung 1918-1942 and Japanese Reizen Maru 1942-1945

Similar Wenchow and Woosung. Call sign MCMS. Built by Takoo Dockyard&Engineering. Co. of Hong Kong Ld., Hong Kong in 1918. Identical to the Woosung II captured by Japanese in 1942 and sunk as Reizen Maru after hitting a mine in the Yangtse River on 18 January 1945. Owner Chin. Nav. Co. Ld., Hong Kong. Gross tonnage 3,246 ton, under deck 2,740 tons, net tonnage 2,119 ton, deadweight 1,900 ton and as dimensions 320.0 x 462. x 22.3 x x 20 (loaded estimated) metres. Two screws. Coal fuelled reciprocating propulsion. Speed 12 (normal cruising)-14 (maximum) knots.
