Japanese cargo ship (ex-Strathleven 1907-1916, Austral Crag 1916-1923) Misaki Maru 1923-1944

Similar Misaki Maru, Asaka Maru, Syokyu Maru, Uga Maru, Unyo Maru and Zuiko Maru. Call sign JPZA. Launched by W. Hamilton&Co. Ltd., Glen Yard, Port Glasgow, Scotland with yard number 196 on 5 September 1907 and torpedoed and sunk by American submarine USS Barbel around 150 miles east of Quangngai, Indo China on 14 November 1944. Australian ownned 1916-1923. Gross tonnage 4,422 tons, under deck 4,107 tons, netto tonnage 3,277 tons and as dimensions 376.3 x 32/3 x 17.4 4 x 7.6 (light)-23 (loaded) feet. Reciprocating propulsion, single screw, horsepower 366 nhp, coal bunker capacity 600 tons, range 4,300 nautical miles/9 knots and speed 9 (normal cruising)-0 (maximum) knots.
