British ship Baron Ardrossen visited the Black Sea according to a letter of the German naval attaché at Istanbul dated 16 January 1940

In his letter dated Istanbul, 16 January 1940 No. 637g. to the Oberkommando der Kriegsmarine improved the German naval attaché the list of armed British and French merchant ships. He mentioned the British ship Baron Ardrossen armed with 1 gun on the bow and 1 at the stern, sighted on 13 December 1939.
