The French Rio Plata-expedition according to the Dutch newspaper Nieuwe Rotterdamsche courant: staat-, handels-, nieuws- en handlebar dated 30 January 1850

Paris, 27 January. The newspaper Napoleon supplied some details dealing with the Plata-river expedition. Some of the vessels involved in this expedition returned to their station at the same river with as result that the naval force now consisted of the 40-gun frigate la Constitution flagship of admiral Leprédour, the 24-gun corvette la Triomphante, the 14-gun corvette l'Adrolate and the 20-gun brig l’Alicibiade. The French government intended to sent the 46-gun fregate 2nd class la Zenobie with on board 400 marines, the 46-gun frigate Pomone with 200 marines, the steam corvette Prony of 320 hp with 100 marines, the transport l’Aube with 300 marines, the transport la Meurthe with 250 marines and without troops on board, the 20-gun brig Mercure, the 14-gun corvette Prevoyante, the 6-gun gunboat Alouette, the gunboat Panthère and the steam yacht Flambart. The steam corvette Prony was to depart within short time with orders for admiral Leprédour.
