Lisbon, 10 December [1779]. The Spanish 36-gun frigate
Nostra Dame del Carmen [Dutch translation of Nuestra Senora del Carmen ?] was wrecked on the coast of the island Fayal caused by a heavy storm on 31 October losing her complete rigging and 8 victims. She was sent from Cadiz towards the galleon
le Bon Conseil which latter ship arrived safely at Fayal. When the galleon departed 5 November Fayal was she however captured by the British and brought into Lisbon on 26 (?) November.
