Problems with the Estonian sold torpedo boats Lennuk and Wambolaaccording to the Dutch newspaper Het Vaderland: staat- en letterkundig nieuwsblad evening edition dated 11 December 1934


The Latvian court absolved the former minister of war Keren and the former chef of the general staff general Toervand of the accusation that they didn’t act well in the interest of the government when the torpedo boats Lennuk and Wambola were sold.(1)

1. Although the Dutch newspaper referred to Letland which must be translatesd as Latvia must this be Estland or Estonia. The Russian Novik subclass destroyer Avtroil built in 1914 was in 1918 captured by the British and handed over as the Lennuk to Estionia. She was sold in 1933 to Peru where she became the Almirante Guisse and she was finally broken up in 1948. The Russian Kapitan from 1915 was in 1918 as the Spartak captured by the British and handed over to Estonia as the Vambola. She was sold to Peru in 1933 where she was renamed Almirante Villar and was broken up in 1955.
