The book Submarines: An Illustrated History of Their Impact by Paul E. Fortenoy mentioned that she and her sister ships were designed before the First World War by Comitato Progetti Navi working together with Cavallini. Her building started at the Venice dockyard in August 1914 (Jane’s Fightings ship; Conways claims June) when the building stopped a year later and she was dismantled and in Summer 1916 transported to the La Spezia Navy Yard where she was assembled launched on 26 July 1919 and completed. Stricken on 10 April 1937. With a displacement of 840 (surfaced)-1.000 (submerged) tons were her dimensions 206¾ x 19 2/3 x 14. The armament consisted of 2-3” anti aircraft guns, 1 machine gun and 6-17’7” torpedo tubes. Her crew numbered 37 men. The two Fiat diesel engines and 2two Savigliana electro motors supplied respectively 2,600 and 1,800 bhp allowing a speed of 13,7 (surfaced)-10,9 (submerged) knots.
