Catch results of the German Greenland seal hunters according to the Dutch newspaper Leydse courant dated 4 June 1751

An item reported the arrival at Rem, Norway on 20 May of commandeur Carsten Erasmus with 90 quardelen seal blubber, leaving Greenland on 11 May. He brought with him a list of the active seal hunters and their catch results. The ships from Hamburg, Germany namely commandeurs Pieter Jurgens 80 quardelen, Michiel Jaspers 90. Cornelis Hansse 180, Hans Hanssse Teunis 160, Cornelis Carstens 30, Hans Hansse 30, Hans Jaspers 1.000 seals, Teunits Pieterse and Laur. Laurensz each 300 seals, Nikkel Nummels worse, Jan Schroder and Klaas Corn. Siev not spoken and Booy Pieterse lost on 11 April off Iceland, one Dutch galiot with 60 quardelen, one British 3-mast ship with 1.100 seals, a ship of Ahlburg, Germany 200 seals, of Flensburg, Denmark [nowadays Germany] Cornelis Cornelisz 120 quardelen, Andries Hansse 100 quardelen, Peter Anderson 600 seals, Johan Caspersen 500 seals and Carsten Jansse 300 seals Laurens Jurg. of Appenrade, Germany 700 seals. He di sighted none of the whalers.
