American merchant cargo ship design C2S in 1946

Steel built with raked stem and cruiser stern. Especially designed for the South African trade. Passenger accommodation consisted of 8 staterooms for 12 passengers. Dimensions 479.8 (over all) x 66.0 (molded) x 43.0 (molded depth) x 27.0 (load draught molded) feet, deadweight 10,000 tons, gross tonnage 7,101 tons, net tonnage 4,259 tons. Bale cubic capacity 594,000 cubic feet. Net refrigerated cargo capacity 11,5000 cubic feet. The amidships positioned turbine propulsion supplied 6,300 shp normal horsepower. Prewar domestic cost 2,354,000 US dollars, domestic war cost 3,067,625 US dollars, unadjusted statutory sales price 1,177,000 US dollars and floor price 1,073,669 US dollars
