Ltd., Uraga, Japan on 16 October 1936, launched on 9 February 1937, completed on 19 June 1937, requisitioned by the navy on 19 April 1941 as general transport, converted into an auxiliary transport registered on 15 October 1941, conversion between 21 October-1 December 1941, torpedoed and sunk by the American submarine USS Narwhal (SS-167) off Nauru Island on 11 September 1943 and stricken on 1 November 1943. Gross tonnage 4,211 tons, under deck 3,550 tons, net tonnage 2,510 tons and as dimensions 359.3 x 49.1 x 28.9 x 12 (light)-16 (loaded) feet. Reciprocating propulsion, single screw, horsepower 350 nhp, coal bunker capacity 470 tons, range 6,000 nautical miles/13 knots and speed 13 (normal cruising)-16 (maximum) knots.
