German submarine visited Martinique shortly according to the U.S. Joint Intelligence Committee. Daily summary dated 22 February 1942

An item reported that the on 21 February a German submarine paid a short visit to Martinique for delivering a patient to the local hospital. The J.I.C. commented stated that this was allowed under international law and did not prove that enemy aircraft or submarines were stationed in the French West Indies.
