The Albanian navy according to the Dutch newspaper Het Vaderland: staat- en letterkundig nieuwsblad evening edition dated 19 November 1929

A Balkan correspondent wrote 15 November that the Albanian government ordered at the Ansaldo yard at Genoa, Italy the building of a cruiser, the first ship of the royal Albanian navy. It was to be a cruiser of about 6,000 tons with the most modern equipment on board mostly destined for training and showing the flag but if necessary to protect the neutrality. At that moment were more as 100 officers, petty officers and sailors trained by the Italian navy. This number would be intensively increased while her potential crew was more as 300 men. Her homeport was to be Valona.
