Of the Count-class, Kent-sub class. Laid down at the Portsmouth dockyard, United Kingdom 30 September 1924, launched 16 February 1926, commissioned 31 May 1928, decommissioned 25 March 1948 and the same year broken up at Newport after her arrival there on 24 June.
With a displacement of 9,750/9,010 tons or 13,450 tons/13,670 tons burthen and as dimensions 630 x 68’3’ x 16’3”. The four shaft Brown Cutis geared turbines combined with 8 Admiralty boilers supplied 80,000 shp allowing a speed of 31,5 knots. With the maximum speed she had a range of 3,100 nautical miles and with 12 knots speed a range of 13,300 miles. Her crew numbered 700 men. The armour consisted of a 4.5” belt, a 1.375” deck, 1-4” magazine box protection and 1”side-plating, turrets and bulkheads. The armament was regularly changed. Original 2x2-8” guns, 4x1-4” anti aircraft guns, 2x2 quad pdrs, 2x0’5 quadruple machine guns and 2x21”quad torpedo tubes. Between 1937-1941 were 2x2-8” guns and 2x1-4” guns added. Between 1941-1942 were 4x1-0.8” guns added. Between 1942-1944 were the 0.5 machine guns removed. She also carried with her 3 planes launched with one catapult until 1943.
