The Italian light cruiser Emanuele Filiberto Duca d’Aosta (1932-1949) and in Russian navy named Z15, Stalingrad and Kerch (1949-1960s)

Part of the Duca d’Aosta or Condottieri light cruiser class which was an improved Montecuccoli-class design. Sister ship was the Eugenio Di Savoia. Laid down at the OTO yard, Livorno 29 October 1932, launched 22 April 1934, commissioned 13 July 1935 and handed over to the Sovjet Union as a war compensation in March 1949. Here she was first called Z5, than Stalingrad and finally Kerch, serving in the Black Sea Fleet and stricken 20 February 1959 and broken up in the 1960s.

Displacement of 8.450 tons or 8.317 long tons standard and 10.539 tons or 10.373 long tons full load with as dimensions 186,9 x 17,5 x 6,1m. Her 2 shaft Belluzzo/Parsons geared turbines and 6 Yarrow boilers supplied 110.000 ship allowing a speed of 36,5 (trial speed even 37,35 knots) knots with a range of 3.900 nautical miles at a speed of 14 knots. Her crew numbered 578 men in Italian service. The armament in Italian service consisted of 4x2-6”guns, 3x2-3.9”guns, 4x2-37mm anti aircraft guns and 6x2-13.2 machineguns and 2 or 3 Ro.43 floatplanes catapulted with one Gagnotto catapult on board of the cruiser. The armament consisted of a 35mm deck, a 70mm main belt, 90mm gun turrets and 1 100mm conning tower.
