The Turkish navy according to the Nederlandsche Staatscourant dated 14 June 1823

Constantinople. 10 May. All ships ordered to participate in the coming expedition departed in several divisions to the Dardanelles including the Captain Pasha. The sultan left unexpectedly his summer palace at Beschiktasch and went on board of the frigate of the grand admiral and handed over to him a gift in cash for himself and a gift cash to divide under the crews. Before the grand admiral departed he spoke with the British ambassador and the Austrian representative who asked him to care of their trade and merchant shipping and to take cautions to prevent a repetition of the bloody inhuman events of the past. Chosrew got a very intensive power of attorney and probably was first to victual the fortifications at Morea and on Candia. The Turkish fleet consisted according to the most reliable sources of 13 frigates, 9 corvettes, 14 brigs, 6 bomb galliots and 31 transports. The Egyptian vessels and those of the Barbary states were not included in this number. The latter were ordered to cruise at sea and nowhere to land except with orders from the grand admiral.
