The launching of the Dutch steamboat Willem de Eerste at Amsterdam, Netherlands according to the Nederlandsche Staatscourant dated 14 August 1838

Friday 10 August was with success at the shipyard de Haan by J.R. Boelen at the Groote Bikkerstraat, Amsterdam, Netherlands the steamboat of 450 lasten Willem de Eerste launched. She was built on account of the Nederlandsche Stoombootmaatschappij for the line Amsterdam-Hamburg and her master was J.H. Savert already active on this line as master.
