Our largest Dutch hero Michiel Adriaansz de Ruyter

Statue at Flushing resembling perhaps the largest Dutch hero De Ruyter known for his fierce defence of the Dutch Republic against the major European powers and who commanded the Dutch fleet when she attacked in 1667 England during the famous raid on the Medway or Chatham and when the British flag ship Royal Charles was captured and taken as a prize to the Netherlands.
