The strength of the Serbian navy according tot the Dutch newspaper Nieuwe Rotterdamsche Courant evening edition dated 26 February 1924
The Balkan correspondent of the newspaper reported that Serbia (called South Slavia) also was invited to come to Rome for the conference of limiting the navies. While there wasn’t much knowledge available dealing with this new navy the correspondent supplied more details obtained from the Department for Defence. According to vice admiral D. Prica (a former captain of the Austrian-Hungarian navy) consisted the navy in the Adriatic Sea of 6 minelayers of 600 (handed over by Germany), 12 torpedo boats of the former Austrian-Hungarian navy of which 8 of 250 tons and 5,000 hp were new and 4 elder of 200 tons, the small during the war at Saloniki bought 50 tons torpedo boat Srbija, the 200 tons yacht Vilo, the smaller steamer Lado of 130 tons and some smaller vessels of 100-200 tons. The arsenal was situated at Tjot in the Gulf of Cattaro. The personnel strength was 2,000 men. On the Donau were 4 monitors (former Austrian-Hungarian) of 440-600 tons and 4 smaller vessels.
