British and Spanish navies in the South American area according to the Nederlandsche Staatscourant dated 8 February 1826

London, 3 February. The HMS Tartar (1), commanded by Captain Brown, arrived at Portsmouth after departing from Rio Janeiro 28 September and from Valparaiso 28 November 1825. According to the rumours she was transporting 2.000.000 piasters, assured by Lloyds for 150.000 British pounds.

Tidings from Havana dated 21 December 1825 reported the arrival of the long awaited expedition the 18th. She consisted of the frigates Iberia (2), Lealtad (3) and Perla (4) and the brig Vengader, escorting 9 transports with 1.500 men. A ship with another 310 men wasn’t arrived yet and it was said that 700 men were embarked at Porto Rico. The first two frigates were new, handsome ships, each armed with 50 guns. Today will depart two warships to search for the missing ship. The arrival of the warships strengthened the trust in the government.
