The navy of Naples (or the Kingdom of the Two Sicilies) in 1847

For years was in the Netherlands a magazine published dealing with maritime affairs. It contained notes dealing with the Royal Dutch Navy and the Dutch merchant shipping/trade, but also supplied information dealing with foreign navies, especially of France and Great Britain. Occasionally we can find information dealing with the navies of other countries Russia, United States or even Mexico. Ships of the line Vesuvius of 80 guns, Capri of 74 guns, Partenope of 60 guns and Sirene of 60 guns. Frigates Regina of 44 guns, Urania of 44 guns, Amalia of 44 guns and Isabella of 44 guns. 6-20 gun brigs. Corvettes Christina of 22 guns and Etna of 10 guns, 2-14 gun galleys, steam warships Archimedes of 300 hp, Stromboli of 200 hp, Ferdinando II of 120 hp and another 3 in service and 2 on stocks. Further more around 50 gunboats, bombs, row gunboats and so on, laid up in peace time.
