According to a news item from Rio de Janeiro intended the Brazilian cabinet to establish in North Brazil a new naval base presumably at Recife in the province of Pernambuco to be leaded by an admiral. Several navy officers all ready towards Recife to develop plans for such a project. The Brazilian vice minister Duiro who just started his journey of political-military nature would also visit the island Fernando de Noronho which seemed to be of strategic importance something which is confirmed by the recently visit of the head of the Brazilian staff.
